The magic of the movies

Hey guys!
So I was asked to participate in a blogging swap called
"The fourteen days of love."
The swap is taking place over at The Meaningful Pursuit written by sweet Catherine.
Anyways, she asked a bunch of bloggers to write about love.
I decided to write about movies that showed me what love is.
I know it sounds silly, you can't take most movies seriously- but I wrote about it anyway.
Here is the first movie I wrote about, if you wanna see more head to her blog!

-->
1.     Pride and Prejudice
I read this book when I was a sophomore in High School. Back then I was a little skeptical of love, I was only 16 and “loving” someone seemed unreal. After I read the book, the movie with Kiera Knightly came out. I remember going to see it with my mom, and the scene where Darcy and Elizabeth bump into each other in the early morning mist had an effect on me. Darcy loved this girl so much he couldn’t sleep. He gave up time, money, pride, potential social standings, everything to see that she would be happy. This really got to me, in my teenage mind. I thought, “Woah, Mr. Darcy reallllly loves her and I need to find that.”

Wedding re-mix

So my anniversary was in January.
The YEAR mark.
I can not believe I have been married a year... ho-ly cow.
Anyway, I was thinking about my wedding and if I would do something differently...
My dress.
The first store I walked in the store clerk said,
"How do you feel about blush?"
And I said,
"I feel great!"
And I chose it. FASSSST.
I have always LOVED bridal dresses so I wish I would have taken more time to chose.
Like one with TUELLE (however you spell that). Man do I love that fabric...
And a liiiitle more bling.
Something that made more of a statement...
Maybe we need to re-new our vows...
Even though our religion doesn't really do that...
BUT still!

Does anyone else still gawk of wedding dresses after they've been wed?

Daydreams

Hey there!
I was MIA for some time there.
With Christmas and getting back into the swing of things blogging was just taking a backseat.
Anyways, Christmas was absolutely wonderful.
If you have ever read my blog you know how much I love being with my family...
And I was with them from Dec 18- Jan 3.
BOY was I a happy camper.
Anyways, I am back in Boston now.
And let me tell you... January is what my hell is.
It reminds me that winter is only just beginning... and summer is far away.
Plus Christmas just ended and it is just real gloomy.
When the winter blues get the best of me I let me daydreams take me away.

Recently I have been daydreaming about the South.
Not that I have ever been there...
But I daydream that it's the late 1940's and I am at a warm outdoor party.
There is peach lemonade and it is warm and everyone is happy.
There is jazz music playing and I am slow dancing with that boy of mine.
Obviously I am wearing a wonderful dress and have a gorgeous glittery hair piece to hold my hair back...
People are bare feet and the grass feels wonderful in between my toes.
There are twinkling lights hanging from the trees and the smells of summer fill my nose.

That is a gooood time am I right?
What do you do in the winter months?
Or are you a winter lover?!

Not a creature was stirring, oh wait...

Pictures were taken the day of the mouse finding.

This past Friday Tony's sister and brother-in-law came to visit us.
The night they showed up I was feeling like my little apartment was starting to feel more like home.
We got some new chairs for Christmas and although our Christmas tree is small it just makes the space more homey.
I was feeling pretty good about this little box.
Then really fast... I was not.
Tony reached into the closet to get some blankets out for our guests and calmly said
"Oh, there's a mouse."
I squealed and climbed as high on the couch as I could go.
Tony and his brother-in-law caught the mouse while I stayed far away and said...
"Can mice jump?"
 "How high can they climb?"
"Am I safe here?"
" Is he going to get me?"
"Have you got him yet?"
They did catch the mouse and took him outside.
G-ross is what I have to say.
The next day we were out and about and I reached my hands in my coat pocket and that dumb mouse left me some gross Christmas presents...
If you know what I mean.
Good riddance mouse... and hello dry-cleaning bill.

average

Am I the only one?
Or does anyone ever feel very average when they blog stalk?
I mean,
You click here and this girl has a wardrobe of a Princess...
This one has the perfect job...
This one has the perfect kids...
That one has the perfect bod...
That girl over there is beyond gorgeous...
That other one can cook, sew, draw, paint, sing, etc.
Woo. I don't have any of those things!
I have to stop and think,
"Ok, all these people have some really great stuff in their life... but I do too."
My family I have FOREVER,
a good husband,
health,
a warm house,
a sense of humor (an AWESOME one),
pretty nice hair (some days),
a pretty Christmas tree,
and you know, they may sound cheesy but all these thing above average to me.

*Note this is NOT a post in which I am fishing for compliments. I am just talkin'.*

Movember isn't what real men do.

Real men grow mustaches whenever. Obviously.

Movember is the time of year when men prove their manliness by not shaving all month.
Tony did not do that.
Oh no, he didn't need to prove his manliness by growing facial hair.
Instead, I am the proud wife to a true man.
A man who stays up late playing Halo...
And by late I mean 8 o'clock the next morning.
Manly.
Right?

Oh- and he and his friends recently posted pictures of what they call "Huck Finning."
What is more manly than dressing up in overalls and building a raft?
Sometimes I just shake my head and ask, "Why?"
